ABOUT ME

I have been speaking and presenting my story: “Fighting for Success: Be EXTRAordinary!” since 2008.  My story is filled with inspiration, hope, empowerment, love and ‘push through’!  I have travels to many area schools and have had the opportunity to share my story with thousands of young men and women.  Through my work as a motivational speaker, I have witnessed, firsthand, how students are able to relate to my story and use it as their inspiration in achieving their own goals.  Over the last 5 years, I have also been given the opportunity to present my story to several Fortune 500 Company sponsored events.  Companies such as Toyota, Lexmark, and several others who share in the ideas of empowering, promoting, and inspiring personal success!

Fighting for Success

“Fighting for Success: Be EXTRAordinary!” is my own personal story of overcoming unthinkable adversity to becoming successful.  My story is one that captures the entire audience!  My presentation is a detailed story of how I was able to fight (both literally and figuratively!) through many of my life’s tragedies and adversity on to gaining success on many levels.   From being a homeless, single-mother of 2 young sons with no money, no one to turn to,  and very little hope, to becoming the #1 Super Middleweight Female Boxer in the World! As well as gaining educational and career success, obtaining my Master’s Degree and becoming a college professor! My presentation and story is unforgettable as it is sure to inspire, empower, and capture the attention and hearts of anyone who hears it!

As a motivational speaker, I have traveled to many schools and organized events sharing my story of empowerment, hope, and inspiration!  Beyond that, my background and sponsorships for motivational speaking include;

  • The Toyota Company: I have been involved with Toyota’s statewide initiative aimed at empowering young women and the third year in a row I have been asked to be their Keynote speaker.  The Toyota Young Women LEAD event is a nationally recognized program that has provided young girls with information on being successful at all areas of life.  This October, the YWL event hosted nearly 700 young women from our TENCO area. (Ashland-2013, 2014, 2015, 2016  Louisville- 2014, 2015)
  • SpaceTrek: This is a summer camp for high school girls is sponsored by Morehead State University and NASA, to encourage young women (between 14-17 years old) to learn about space science.  Each year this summer camp gives 25 young ladies the opportunity to learn what it’s like to be a part of NASA’s space science team.  I have been their keynote speaker for the last 3 years.  I am so proud to be a part of such a wonderful event that encourages and inspires our young ladies that ‘you can do anything you set your mind to doing!’  (Morehead State University Campus 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018)
  • The Toyota & Lexmark Company and SOAR: This is the 3rd year I have been involved with the Lexington (KY) Young Women LEAD event at a co-keynote speaker.  This event is also aimed at empowering young women to be all that they dream of being.  This event hosts 1,000 young women each year from area high schools around the Lexington (KY) area.  (2014, 2015, 2016)
  • Lawrence County (OH) Domestic Violence Task Force: Being a survivor of domestic violence, I have spoken out about the dangers and risks associated with domestic violence as well as raising awareness of this problem that seems to be plaguing our communities and our nation.  I have spoken at several of their events including: Domestic Violence Awareness Month community outreach night, sponsored by Ohio University Southern (October 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013)
  • Kentucky Coalition Against Domestic Violence: I have also spoken at many state legislative conferences (Kentucky Coalition on Domestic Violence and the Ohio Domestic Violence Board) as well as numerous college campuses and high schools throughout the tristate area.  I know my story continues to make a huge difference for those who hear it.  Many would say that it has changed lives!  This year (2016), I have been asked to be the keynote speaker for the 18th Annual Ending Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Conference sponsored by the state of Kentucky Coalition Against Domestic Violence organization.
